3 Tips For Making Laundry Less Overwhelming For Your Family

If you have a large family, or even if you just have a lot of clothes to wear, staying on top of laundry can be a real challenge. Especially for people who are busy and have a lot of other responsibilities, keeping laundry clean, dry, and put away is not an easy task. Luckily, there are a few things you can try to make this an easier chore to tackle.

To help you see how this can be done, here are three tips for making laundry less overwhelming for your family.

Wash Everyone’s Clothes Separately

For families that have a lot of people living in separate rooms of the house, bringing all of the laundry together to sort and wash can be a real headache. And then after you have everything washed, sorting the clothes again and folding everything can be another big challenge. But with the right processes, you can eliminate a lot of this hassle.

Rather than going about doing your laundry in this way, consider washing everyone’s clothes separately. Instead of sorting clothes based on color, have everyone wash all of their clothes together. This way, every load will go back to the same room. This can eliminate a lot of the intermixing of clothes and reduce the sorting everyone in the home will have to do.

Turn On The Alarms And Buzzers

With everything else that you have going on in your life, it’s easy to forget when you have clothes in the washer or the dryer. But when you leave clothes in the washer and dryer, you may have to wash the clothes again or spend extra time ironing them to get all of the wrinkles out.

To keep these issues from happening to you, try turning on the alarms or buzzers on your washer and dryer. While the sounds might be annoying to you, you’ll then be able to hear exactly when your clothes are done. This way, you can take immediate action to change out your laundry and get the entire process over with as soon as possible.

Don’t Let Clean Laundry Pile Up

Having clean clothes pile up is almost as bad as having dirty clothes pile up, as the clothes might get mistaken for dirty clothes or get incredibly wrinkled as they sit in a pile. And for many people, the more the clothes pile up, the more overwhelming of a chore it is to tackle.

To avoid this, try to make it a habit to fold a load of laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer. You could even set up a small table next to your dryer so that you can fold each piece of clothing as it comes out rather than taking the entire load out together. By creating this habit, you’ll never have clean laundry pile up again.

If you’re needing some help getting a handle on all of the laundry at your house, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you do this.
